Just like the dawn of a new day, the start of a new year brings renewed creative inspiration and energy. It’s an opportunity to look forward to the wonderful events we have in our diary – the occasions when we’ll be able to interact with our favourite fabric designers, with our customers, and with the global design community.

In the same way that a farmer’s year is marked by the cycle of the seasons, so our year at Mavromac and Gatehouse is punctuated with the key annual events that will help to shape our collections and our creative thoughts, and which come around each year like old friends – always welcome, and eagerly anticipated.

With several weeks of 2023 already behind us, we invite you to ‘save the dates’ for these events and occasions, and to join us in looking forward to witnessing and participating the endless reinvention of design.

March

March sees a sizeable launch, with new collections from Manuel Canovas and Larsen (both brands owned by Colefax & Fowler) being premiered. In addition to showcasing their latest fabrics, the designers from each house traditionally stage a presentation taking design aficionados through their creative process and using mood boards to illustrate how their thinking has evolved.

April

“A” stands for Africa’s two luxury brands – Mavromac South and Ardmore – showcasing their latest collections simultaneously.

We always look forward to seeing the latest ceramic pieces from Ardmore, as well as their newest bushveld-themed fabrics, inspired by Africa’s wild places and the creatures that live there. Mixing whimsy, social conscience and myths, each Ardmore piece is unique.

Our annual sale (dates to be confirmed) has become something of an institution, and is now the industry’s most keenly awaited sale of textiles, furniture and stylish accessories.
